Jacqueline Lacasa

Visual artist, curator and researcher of contemporary art, Bachelor of Psychology, Master in Cultural Studies with emphasis in Visual Culture, ARCIS University, CHILE. Director of the National Museum of Visual Arts, (2007-2009). Outstanding artistic projects: The natural daughter of Joaquín Torres García (2000-2010), Liquid Museum (2007-2009), La Uruguaya (2010-2020), ATACAMA 1670 (2015-2020). Her work is in private and public collections in Uruguay and abroad. Participated in the 2007 Havana Biennial, 2008 MERCOSUR Biennial, 2012 Curitiba Biennial, Awards: Receives the Cisneros Fontanals Foundation Miami Award, receives the FEFCA Award for artistic career in Uruguay and the 59th National Salon of Visual Arts Margaret White Award, both granted by the Ministry of Education and Culture of your country. As a researcher in contemporary art, she has published the research: JTG’s Natural Daughter. She created the Editorial CAC notebooks of contemporary art, where she published of her authorship: Palimpsesto. Writings on contemporary Uruguayan art (compiler). Public Acts-Private Acts, archives and democracy in contemporary Uruguayan art. Contemporary art in Uruguay in the XXI century.
